I think this one is a very useful scale and attractively presented, but, if you have a project in mind that needs the 2'' squares, why not post both versions? You only have to proof it if someone wants to buy it, but if you have bought some to use in your own project, then it's already proofed.
If you think the tighter design is better, I will leave it alone. I'm not sure when I will order swatches. I have made a version with the same size elements, but spaced on a 2 inch square so i can combine it with other designs. Some will depend how my entry does in the contest. Too low and I might not bother swatching.
This layout looks fine Kathy! It would be a very useful print for quilting and fabric craft projects!
Well, Kathy, one of the things that makes this design interesting to my eye, is that the rows of florets interlock a little. That interlocking pulls my eye around, instead of having the florets well separated so that the only pull is along a row, with an intentional jump needed to go to another row. I also like it that it's small and regular, which makes it attractive to patchworkers. So, I hope you keep the interlocking-ness if you enlarge the pattern.
I'm thinking of replacing this with one that is 2 inches sq. This isn't an even size. It would spread the elements out a little.
The subtle variations in the regularly placed hexagons keeps my eye moving quite happily.
