This is made from the first *recognisable* painting my lovely Lyra painted me, and I love it, so this one is really for me :-D
Here in the UK we've been having a very wet May, but fortunately with the occasional sunny spell and hence lots of rainbows... Lyra (age 2 1/2) has been very interested in them and has been singing the 'rainbow song' lots. When we were stuck inside painting a couple of weeks ago (too rainy to go out!) she copied a painting I did of a rainbow. She asked me to 'do her one too', so I drew the outer arch in pencil and then she did the painting, copying the colour order I was doing. I was so proud, and the original is now framed and has pride of place in our gallery in our living room. I especially love that when she had finished copying me she felt the rainbow really needed an extra pink stripe underneath, as you can't have enough pink.... and also that her finger prints are in it, so this one is really *just for us*. However as I've not had tme to do anything hand drawn of my own I'm entering it in the hand drawn contest.
I think my lovely girl needs a new summer skirt for when the sun finally comes out!

I have always been a sucker for rainbows, myself, and I particularly like this very exuberant one. Well done, you two!
Very nice, Lyra!
it's beautiful! It will make a lovely skirt! I love making fabric from my kids' drawings and paintings too - such a great way to preserve the memories!
Thanks Su, Melanie, Rhonda, Claire and of course Auntie Judy :-D Melanie - your son's design is lovely too! I really like the idea of using the little one's art this way!

Creating this sweet design from your daughter's art work is a lovely way to hoard some treasured memories in a fabric form!
Lovely, so nice to have a special piece of art made into fabric for a skirt. I'm sure your daughter will love that! Very good painting Lyra!
That is so true: you can't ever have enough pink! Lovely story and design from your budding artist!
Thanks Emma! I showed Lyra the finished design online, and she was very excited that "my paintin' got into your 'puter mummy"!!
