Collection: Peppermint Candy Christmas
It was only a matter of time before I discovered fabric design. I grew up playing under the sewing machine table with all my art supplies to keep me busy, all while listening to the tunes of the sewing machine. Still learning... HS Art teacher 20 yrs.

As a child I always wanted to lick the beaters when Mama was making cookies or cakes. That was back in the day when we were less scared of things like salmonella. My own children grew up licking the beaters, too. I have at least one photo of every one of my children with batter on their cheeks from sticking their tongues into the beater as far as they could to get every bit of the sweetness. This is the central piece to my Peppermint Candy Christmas collection I am working on.

Oh, I like the recipe cards pinned up. Nicely done!

Oh, Rhonda, it does bring back a flood of memories for me also. My children loved to make sugar cookies and like a good mother I let them all roll and cut their shapes. They were doing just that one day while I cleaned house around them. But when I saw the dough was not so white anymore from so much handling (even though they started with clean hands). I grabbed up the dough and rolled it out quickly, took a pizza cutter and cut the dough into squares while I told them, "You can just call these "Mama got mad cookies" . We have laughed over that for years and now, even the spouses of my children call my sugar cookies, "Mama got mad cookies". They are a favorite.
This is a terrific design that will bring back some great memories! Batter on beaters and sticky little lickers are a match made in baking day heaven! As well as squabbling over licking rights to beaters and mixture bowls, my kids liked to have their own pie dough to roll out and mangle into tough, chewy, jam roll overs. These were cooked in the oven with the regular baking and later eaten by the children with much vigorous chewing!
You captured the McCall's Magazine look so well! Great overlaps.
