Entry for Retro Kitchen -Restricted Palette- Contest, May 2012.
As for "retro kitchen," I have no idea what that is! But, my grandmother DID bake pies for a living, and her having been born in 1874 makes her pretty darn "retro," so, this is my contest entry.

Thanks so much, Deborah ( and, belatedly, Moira and Amy)! I think of Grandmother Ebbeler whenever I'm baking :-) --- I have her rolling pins and mat --- and whenever I'm eating pie, like this morning at breakfast. I am pleased with this design (and the error in the repeat, mentioned below, has indeed been fixed) and it's derivative, Polka Pies. One of these days, I will have more than cherry pie available.

Pie! (That's a dangerous trigger word for me . . . that and doughnuts!) How did I miss this design so long ago. Wonderful design, Sue Ellen, and I enjoyed reading your description.
Brilliant! Love those pies and rolling pins!

I just discovered a mistake in the vertical repeat, so I've removed this from the marketplace until I can fix it.

Engaging explanation of your conceptualisation of the design (love the reto granny!) and you created something that looked different from the majority of other designs, which sure caught my eye. I think this works well as a stripe, especially the rolling pins.
Thanks 'inscribed here' & Rhonda. What a great idea ... the pie stripe could go right up over the straps! It's a pity I don't know any bakery owners.
These tasty pies, lined up in their mouthwatering rows, would tempt the willpower of any hungry boy! What a brilliant design this would be for a bakery to have on their eco-friendly shopping bags!
I love pie! Your pies and rolling pins make an interesting stripe.
