At first glance this seems like a totally traditional design appropriate for colonial, Victorian, or even early 20th century homes or themes. But the details on this somehow don't jive with all that classical stuff. First the central blue flowers that curl off the sine waving upright lines don't have petals. They are more shaped like amoebas. And the dark blue morning glories in the alternating vertical stripe wear spikes at their tips. You will find arrows and X's in that narrow stripe. Over in the wider stripe are more of these spiked morning glories, hidden hearts and little lavender leaves. The shades of blue are darker in print than on your screen. It all looks very co-ordinated and traditional at first glance. But a closer look at the details within this abstract design suggest that it is traditional for Mars. (file m11f2)
