A classic chain link fence style diagonal check over a Gothic and traditional vertical and horizontal stripe is what you get here, with a gently curving vertical band between every other lavender box. Between those bands is a butterfly-like bow, holding the whole design together. That butterfly is made of 1880's style elements, which is how I came to give this design its name. (Papillon is French for butterfly, and the delicate pinks and lavender, and ultra fine lines of this design look French to me).
