So cute I love owls and singer featherweights, I'm lucky enough that my mom got me one for my college graduation.

Lisa, growing up my mom had one too. I wish I still had it I've seen so many people who continue to sew with them. I love that you're using one. I'm so jealous because I know those machines are total workhorses that rarely have tension issues! Tension issues is always a problem with newer machines.
Amy, thanks so much!
Just saw this, Vo, and I had to tell you that I am STILL sewing on a black and gold Singer Model 99 sewing maching (from the late 1950's, maybe?) that has a toile-like design on it much like your illustration here! I am crazy about this blue - jean design, it is genius!
Another fantastic design, you go girl!!!!!!
:-) Thanks girls! As I worked on this one it I kept putting in more and more stuff. It was fun!

Love the blues, the details, the repeat, the drawings, and the fact that you even show the project that all those notions were aimed at creating. Delightful work!
I really thought this would be top 10! Even my husband liked this one - and he's SO not into fabric :)

LOL, I'd love to say yes to the attribute to Madonna because it would make me younger than I am. No, it was mostly a flower power/Laugh In type of thing. I do love it that you were doing custom denim jackets! I have a soft spot for individualizing!
I love your inspiration of customised jeans! Do you attribute that to Madonna? I remember making some pretty awesome custom denim jackets with my sister in the 80's a la DSS
Cean, Bwhahahaha. Word play; dear to my heart <3
Victoria! Thanks so much!
Awesome textures, Vo! I want to reach out and grab that tomato, it's so plump looking. Wonderful work, and now thanks to you I have a notion that the word notion must have something to do with sewing( I love fabrics that make me smarter)!
Great details. I love your owl too; and the denim is cool.
:D hahahah, you crack me up Carina! Thanks so much!
awesome!!! love that denim feeling, and that owl, and the pincushion and...ok, all the details!! :D :)
And what I wouldn't give to have the old (metal) Singer I grew up with! I suspect I drew from my memories of that old machine!
Love the denim! This is classic, just has an old-timey feel, reminds me of the old sewing machines... and how great they were...
Oh thank you Janiece!
Love the blue jean texture for this. Nicely done!
Rosanna, hahahaha, yes, an owl got in there because once I embroidered an owl patch for a pair of jeans. Had to include it.
Oh and yOu threw in an OWL!!!!
love the color an texture....great design Vo! This would have so many interesting applications!
Really nice details, great colors, too!
!!! Thanks Amy, Sharon and Penny! Yeah, lots of texture here; glad it reads. LOL, I used to be fascinated by pin cushions (even opened one up once and it was a very messy thing!)
texture queen! super gorgeous design vo ~ loving the pin cushion! xxx
Thanks isabella, Julie and Rachel. Hahaha, this design started out because as a teen I used to embroider friends Levis for cash. I love the look of denim with white.
great work...love the denim and the contrasting white stitching.
I love this one! It has a beautiful depth of colour and the white detail looks great!
The texture is great and I love the look of the white details against the dark blue. Gorgeous!
Nadja, thanks...I love the idea of a denim look on silk or sateen...casual with a drape you cannot get with real denim. :-)
Rhonda, hahahah...so that's why I have so many unfinished projects...that owl is keeping the brownies and elves away!
what a wonderful idea to use as background texture jeans! the result is beautiful
The blue colours give your design a marvelous, magical, midnight in the sewing room look! Just the place that sewing elves might visit to complete your projects while you sleep! I think I recognise the night-owl on your design, Vo! He looks like the one that keeps me company when I get busy and work on my projects late into the night! Hey! That's probably why the elves don't visit me!
:-) Thanks Siya and Pat! I love that you both love it!
I love this too!
I really love this!
