Choose which side is inside! The Penguins on Ice lined purse with 2 - count 'em - 2 pockets. Put both on the inside OR put center one on the inside back and one on the outside back for a REVERSIBLE purse! A two-color strap makes it even more fun.
Use fusible stabilizer between the fabric to give it body or a thin layer of batting (and machine quilt it). Add a magnetic catch concealed in the liner or insert a loop in the middle of the flap edge and sew buttons on both sides of the front to create a latch for a reversible purse. Stitch a few rows length-wise on the strap to give it more body.

The Fully Reversible Penguins on Ice Purse - both views displayed. I found the perfect, sparkly buttons to make the closure. Bag is stuffed with paper to hold its shape. Recommend stiff interfacing or nylon net between cloth layers to add more body to the purse. Strap is top-stitched in channels to stiffen it a little.
Thanks, Isabella. I realize penguins may be more on the edge than my other designs were, but on the bright side, I already sold a yard to someone besides myself.
What a great, reversible bag. Your penguins are super pretty, Pamela!
LOL They were - my first attempt at my logo penguin came too close to an obscure stillframe from a movie I never even heard of so I had to redo it completely (penguin was on a surfboard with somthing around its neck). Wasn't an actual infringement but working where I do they almost made me drop the penguins altogether until I pointed out that nearly every animal and living thing in the world has been depicted at least once somewhere and that you can't eliminate an animal entirely just because it has been depicted somewhere else in a different pose, colors, etc.
Pamela, penguins on the brain sound a bit painful! Hope they didn't peck too much before you caught them and placed them firmly in this pretty design!
Thanks, Nadja, Rhonda and Victoria I've had penguins on the brain lately - used them in a logo for an office event. I am really happy with these little guys though.
Your penguins are darling with their fishy catch, and the colors of the "ice" are beautiful.
There is a lovely translucent look to these perfectly pretty penguins! The bag design is charming, Pamela!
