Use fusible stabilizer between the fabric to give it body or a thin layer of batting (and machine quilt it). Add a magnetic catch concealed in the liner or insert a loop in the middle of the flap edge and sew buttons on both sides of the front to create a latch for a reversible purse. Stitch a few rows length-wise on the strap to give it more body.
