This is my entry for the bag pattern contest. I had fun doing this one; I wanted to design the bag pattern from scratch, and also to get the full benefit of the cut & sew nature of the bag and design something where the pattern fills followed the shapes of the pattern pieces.... and this is what I came up with... A summery beachy 'bucket' tote. The finished bag is approx 16 x 14 x 4"; It has circular handles, is fully lined and has three pocket (one at either end, and one full width internal pocket). The bag fastens with a coordinating fabric covered button, and there are matching decorative buttons on the end pockets - see photos!!
To make this bag you will need fusible interfacing, blue thread, card or plastic to stiffen the base (4 x 12 1/2 "), and three 1" coverable buttons.
