Called Hoover Hogs during the USA's Great Depression, the armadillo is prevalent in my part of Oklahoma. We once had a mother armadillo with four babies living in our back yard. This is my pen and ink drawing of that armadillo.

Pinned onto my decor board - I just love the cushions!
Thank you, Su and Penny, for your comments. I appreciate it. Bandicoots, huh? I just googled them. They are oddly cute and I like that name: bandicoot. Thanks again, Penny and Su, for taking a look at the design.

Looks fantastic as a cushion - and the half-brick repeat works perfectly as there's something very appealing about them all lined up in rows. I agree they do look rather prehistoric. Digging up the backyards reminds me of our bandicoots which do the same looking for grubs, in fact I'm sure one is trying to dig to China as the hole just seems to get deeper and deeper. This collection of yours is really gathering strength with each new design, very well collected!
Photograph of the daytime side of my Armadillo Night and Day throw pillow. Design printed well on Spoonflower Kona cotton.
Photograph of a fat quarter of Spoonflower Kona cotton printed with "Armadillo." Photograph was taken in natural light. The wooden cabinets give the fabric a warmness that is not apparent in the actual fabric. Printed out well.

This is probably TMI, Amy, but mother armadillos always have four babies and the babies are always either all male or all female! Thanks for taking a look at the design. I appreciate it.
what a darling drawing! how fun to have a whole family in your backyard. It must have been so fun to watch them grow up!
Well, I like them. Many people don't because they dig up yards looking for grubs. I think they look prehistoric -- like tiny dinosaurs roaming the back yard. Thank you for taking a look at the design.

An armadillo with a lot of style! I like the white on black variation too. How wonderful to have them living in your back uard!
Thanks so much, Carmen. I appreciate your taking a look at the design.
