About the Design

We can rise above difficult situations one step at a time, one day at a time. This design is

symbolic of victory. It is symbolic of recovery.

This collection was inspired by the design I created for the limited palette Spoonflower challenge in October 2018. For some reason this design reminds me of candy coated licorice candies (though those are generally pink and white). I expect it is because of the shapes of the small rectangles. And this in turn reminds me of my sister Peg, who loved those little candies! To me, this design is symbolic of hope, victory, of rising above a difficult situation. That also reminds me of my sister who, though given only 6 months to live after a diagnosis of ovarian cancer, was with us for 12 more years. Every time I think of her I remember that she lived each day grateful for the blessings of life. This lively pattern would spice up an interior design scheme, and would also be a great blender for quilting. The neutral colors of this version would encourage viewers to focus on the rhythmic movement of the design. If you would like this design in another size, just ask! I also see it used for clothing like shirts, blouses, and dresses. copyright Mary K Wykes 10-2-18
