About the Design

A cherub of a toddler and an iris were melded to create the key design in the Iris Princess

Collection. Here she is in neutral grey.

For a year I mulled over the idea of melding an image of my youngest granddaughter with an iris to create an Iris Princess. When it finally came to me that I could use various parts of the flower in whichever way I chose, the concept began to work. The watercolor painting was chosen for exhibition in a juried show sponsored by the Society of Watercolor Artists of Fort Worth, Texas. You may see the original painting here: http://mary-wykes.pixels.com/featured/the-iris-princess-mary-wykes.html (Prints and note cards available.) Just ask if you want another size. copyright - Mary Kathryn Wykes - May 2 2016
