Over ten years ago, I showed an art high school class how they could turn ordinary objects into biographical tributes to famous artists. I used one of my old red tennis shoes and turned it into Dali complete with that fantastic moustache, netting to represent the village in which he was born, and of course watch faces (albeit those RugRat watches that came in old Burger King Kid’s Meals.) So I took some pics of my collage piece. I manipulated the image and now it’s a Christmas tree. If you look closely, though, you will see another Christmas tree lurking beneath. That was my first tree but the image was too large to upload to Spoonflower, so I reworked the design again, hence “Pentimento.†Purchasing a swatch of a design in your desired Spoonflower fabric or wallpaper is recommended so that you can get an idea of the color and feel of the actual design printed on fabric and/or wallpaper. If you would like this fabric design resized at a smaller or larger scale, please send me a message through Spoonflower or add a message on the comments portion of this fabric design page. Thank you.

About the Design
This design began as an old Converse tennis shoe . . . a tribute to Dali. Really. See details.
