Poseidon ~ Greek god of the sea and horses. Holding his trident which has a crab on it. A starfish rests below. Next to the surfboard is a shell and a cake of Mr. Zog's Sex Wax, used to wax a surfboard for better grip (I think?), don't quote me on that since I don't surf! ;o) Read below for fascinating myth about Poseidon: Poseidon rode a Hippokampoi (half horse and half fish), through the sea with his trident in his hand. This makes sense because Poseidon is the god of the sea, and horses. Poseidon decided to take a break from Hippocampoi and try out a surfboard (a bucket-list thing). He was good at it ~ did the pro circuit ~ which made him popular with the mermaids. The gods were not very pleased with Poseidon's undignified surfing phase ~ that's probably why you don't hear about this myth very often ~ the gods really didn't want that story getting around! LOL... Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses. He was one of the main gods worshiped in Greece, especially in Athens, even though he is not the patron god of the city. There would be festivals each year devoted to him, along with everyday prayers and temples. Seafarers sacrificed bulls to Poseidon. Poseidon was the son of the gods Kronos and Rhea. He was the brother to many Olympian gods, including Demeter, Zeus, Hera, and Hestia. He also had love affairs with Olympic Gods Aphrodite and Demeter, and is a third generation god. He was a very busy guy.
