This design is a tessellation of triple-headed arrow (based on R6/R3 grid) which resembles an isometric view of 3D co-ordinate axes. The underlying p31m symmetry is partially destroyed by a 3-fold colouring, leaving a larger unit cell with p3m1 symmetry. Currently displaying shades of grey with white outlines.
