Zebra finches are incredibly cute, live in large flocks and are chatty and flighty. When we visited the Red Centre in outback Australia we saw many of them. When there are large flocks it is a sign that there is enough water about in the desert. We also came across sturt desert roses flowering near Alice Springs. I painted the flowers finches in watercolor while traveling then created this vibrant and intricate damask in photoshop later on.
