Simple, digitally hand-drawn, pointed motifs are symbolic of mountains. Tucson is surrounded by mountain ranges, and it is a part of our desert scenery, but deeper than that, it is a symbol of the mountains one must move and climb to make miracles happen, to make dreams reality, and the obstacles one must overcome to get there. Mountains are thought of as immovable obstacles that get in our way. How can we tackle mountains that we can’t move or climb or surpass? When embarking on any journey, we must remind ourselves that we are more powerful than we can ever know, and that each of us holds the power and the courage to move mountains, no matter how big or impossible it may seem. Everything is impossible until it’s done. This pattern is a reminder of everything in life we must overcome and how far we’ve come to get to where we are, and all the future obstacles we may encounter that we will too overcome. It’s not always about the destination, but also the journey along the way, the lessons learned, and the story of a hero’s journey. We are the heroes in our own journeys.
