Admittedly this Colorado River native is one homely fish which until October 2021 was considered an endangered species just one step away from extinction! Now due to the wonderful work of conservationists, the population is growing and the fish takes a step back from the brink, reverting from the endangered classification to threatened. The little chub’s silhouette forms a pretty pattern in bold solid colors meant to reflect the joy of its continued existence and overlook his unattractive appearance.
