About the Design

A recreated design from a favourite 1940s vintage dress that I own in a soft toned palette featuring

vegetables with a feminine Land Girls vibe...

Nothing makes a stronger statement about your style than a bit of vintage. It could be a piece of jewellery from a favourite aunt, or your mum's designer bag that she carried with her everywhere she went. I have a small selection of treasured pieces that I have been gifted or have bought that make me feel most like myself when I wear them with my changing wardrobe. One favourite dress from the 1940s and bought in a London charity shop has rows of loosely drawn vegetables with bright, bold abstract splashes of colour which I have recreated with a new 40s inspired palette to carry forward as the dress is now too fragile to wear. If you are planning on purchasing wallpaper with a large scale design, one tip is to add 12 inches to half of the rolls that you are ordering in order to match up the repeat when it comes to hanging the drop so that you are not short of wallpaper when it comes to finishing your wall. The other way in which you can make it work is to take the trimmed off piece at the top edge of the wallpaper and add it to the bottom edge as you go. I found a brilliant clear and informative set of videos on you tube at this address if you need a good guide. If the link does not take you there, search for Arte Walls which will take you to their fantastically helpful channel. It is so worth it.....the results speak for themselves....Enjoy ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lTeTyssCqA Any offcuts that you do end up with have can be used creatively to make labels or cover storage boxes or greeting card crafts...go and create wonderful things !
