The dots sport a southwestern motif.
Polka dots pushed together create this design which is symbolic of how when we pull together we become a unit that can accomplish more than we can accomplish alone. They represent solidarity. The background shows through as "Peekaboo Diamonds." Though I have used the term "diamonds," since the edges of the shapes are concave, rather than straight, a more accurate name for them would be a superellipse, A superellipse is also known as a Lamé Curve. The larger sizes of the design are great for upholstery, tablecloths, and other interior decorating applications. The smaller sizes provide wonderful surface interest for clothing and quilts. Imagine this design as the bodice on a dress, and then pick a color from the design to use for the skirt, Or use it for a blouse, and use a solid color from the design for a skirt or a nice pair of slacks. copyright - Mary Beglau Wykes - March 19, 2019
