The North Carolina State Fair opens this week, and you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be there. Besides the deep fried candy bars and the donut sloppy joe burgers (yes, you read that right), we're looking forward to the annual pie contest. But can those real-life pies beat the delicious entries into our own Pies Design Challenge? The blue ribbon winner was Patty Rybolt of Florida with a pie menu that left our heads spinning. Congratulations to the rest of our finalists; we're sure these fabrics will make an appearance in kitchens worldwide, soon!
Once a year we turn the tables and put the Spoonflower team to the test by asking them to come up with some designs for our weekly design challenge (which is easier for some than others, as you might imagine). We'll share the special details about this contest on the blog. Voting for the staff contest will open on March 13th, 2014.
Fabric designs for this week's contest should be inspired by scenes from a school science fair. Previews will be sized as quarter yards (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, March 18th, 2014.
April showers bring May flowers. And what do you need to stay dry? A good pair of rain boots. Create a design that celebrates the trusty rubber boot. Previews will be sized as quarter yards (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, March 25th, 2014.
Spoonflower cofounder Stephen Fraser is predicting that whales are going to be huge in 2014. All designs submitted must use a restricted palette (visible here) and previews will be shown at (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is April 1st, 2014.
Instructions and rules for our weekly fabric design contests appear on our upcoming contests page .
