This week designers used a restricted color palette to create patterns celebrating the tasty Cantonese tradition of Dim Sum. Contestants blew us away with their creative (and cute!) fabric designs. From bowls to steamers to little treats, this week's contest left us hoping for seconds! Congratulations to our winner, Julie Lynch of South Australia, and the rest of the top ten.
This week, designers should use hand-lettering to write a New Year's resolution. Additional design elements are welcome, but the design must have text that has a hand-lettered appearance, and describes a resolution. Previews will be shown at the fat quarter fabric size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 (yes, that's New Year's Eve!).
It may be the middle of winter, but we're already quilting for spring! This week, we're asking contestants to create a cheater quilt block with a spring floral theme. Cheater quilt blocks feature fabric designed and printed to look like patchwork or applique so that you can skip the piecework and go straight for quilting. All designs submitted must use a restricted palette (visible here, and white) and previews will be shown at (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is January 7th, 2014.
Instructions and rules for our weekly fabric design contests appear on our upcoming contests page .
