The winner of our palette-restricted contest for geometric shape fabrics is none other than veteran Spoonflowerer SammyK, whose history of previous contest wins is almost too long to list (but you can review many of them on the contest archive page). Suffice it to say she's done it again in a field of amazing entries. Be sure to check out all of this week's well-coordinated top ten. This week, designers should use hand-lettering to write a New Year's resolution. Additional design elements are welcome, but the design must have text that has a hand-lettered appearance, and describes a resolution. Previews will be shown at the fat quarter fabric size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 (yes, that's New Year's Eve!).
It may be the middle of winter, but we're already quilting for spring! This week, we're asking contestants to create a cheater quilt block with a spring floral theme. Cheater quilt blocks feature fabric designed and printed to look like patchwork or applique so that you can skip the piecework and go straight for quilting. All designs submitted must use a restricted palette (visible here, and white) and previews will be shown at (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is January 7th, 2014.
Instructions and rules for our weekly fabric design contests appear on our upcoming contests page .
