Spoonflower Design Challenge: April 11, 2012

Books on fabric may not be nearly as much fun to read, but on the other hand they're much easier to pack up and move, and less likely to smell musty. This was an unsually close contest, and the winner is first-timer JeAnna Casper (addilou) with "A Wise Old Bookend." I think the top ten are all begging to become lampshades for libraries. Upcoming contests

Kittens in mittens

The Interwebz called and it has requested more cat-themed fabric design contests (although this one should generate some excellent wrapping paper as well). Previews will be sized as quarter yards (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 2, 2014.

Winter toile (monochromatic)

Create a toile de Jouy fabric design using a single color (or a background color and a single foreground color) on the theme of winter. Previews will be sized as quarter yards (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 9, 2014.

Tchaikovsky's most famous ballet is overdue for its own fabric contest. Create a fabric inspired by The Nutcracker for this week's challenge, keeping in mind that we will NOT be sending out an email or switching over the contest on December 25th, so this one will be up for two weeks. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size (21" x 18"). The deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 16th, 2014. Voting will open on December 18th, and will close on December 30th. We'll announce the winner on December 31st, just in time for the New Year!

Math and art are too often depicted as opposite ends of a spectrum. The art of creating seamless repeats is especially well suited for the numerate among us. This week's challenge is to design a fabric celebrating mathematics. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 30th. Voting will open on Wednesday, December 31st.

Instructions and rules for our weekly fabric design contests appear on our upcoming contests page .
