The winner of the ditsy sea creatures fabric design contest is Roz Robinson, a geologist and mom who also apparently dabbles (quite well!) in fabric design. Her "Ammonite Ditsy Print" has the virtue, one can assume, of being scientifically accurate as well as lovely! Ditsy prints are great for apparel, so we're hoping to see some great project photos over the next few weeks. Read more about Geologist By Day, Fabric Designer By Night.
Once a year we turn the tables and put the Spoonflower team to the test by asking them to come up with some designs for our weekly design challenge (which is easier for some than others, as you might imagine). We'll share the special details about this contest on the blog. Voting for the staff contest will open on March 13th, 2014.
Fabric designs for this week's contest should be inspired by scenes from a school science fair. Previews will be sized as quarter yards (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, March 18th, 2014.
April showers bring May flowers. And what do you need to stay dry? A good pair of rain boots. Create a design that celebrates the trusty rubber boot. Previews will be sized as quarter yards (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, March 25th, 2014.
Spoonflower cofounder Stephen Fraser is predicting that whales are going to be huge in 2014. All designs submitted must use a restricted palette (visible here) and previews will be shown at (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is April 1st, 2014.
Instructions and rules for our weekly fabric design contests appear on our upcoming contests page .
