Our cityscape contest spawned a travel guide's worth of amazing, charming and unique fabrics. And yes, many of the usual suspects all appeared in the top ten -- London, Venice, San Francisco, New York. But the winner was a fabric celebrating the Dutch city of Delft, hometown to Bora, our all-time Spoonflower contest champ. She created a lovely fabric to commemorate Delft, in South Holland, a very old city famous for its blue pottery and home to the painter Vermeer. This week, designers should use hand-lettering to write a New Year's resolution. Additional design elements are welcome, but the design must have text that has a hand-lettered appearance, and describes a resolution. Previews will be shown at the fat quarter fabric size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 (yes, that's New Year's Eve!).
It may be the middle of winter, but we're already quilting for spring! This week, we're asking contestants to create a cheater quilt block with a spring floral theme. Cheater quilt blocks feature fabric designed and printed to look like patchwork or applique so that you can skip the piecework and go straight for quilting. All designs submitted must use a restricted palette (visible here, and white) and previews will be shown at (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is January 7th, 2014.
Instructions and rules for our weekly fabric design contests appear on our upcoming contests page .
