Kites (small print) Designs

Spoonflower Design Challenge: November 30, 2011

The top ten fabric designs in our kite contest are terrific, but the winner this week is Belgian designer Ine Beerten, who goes by Zesti on Spoonflower. Zesti won our carousel contest a year or so ago, but she was also a finalist in the Project Selvage competition. Math

Math and art are too often depicted as opposite ends of a spectrum. The art of creating seamless repeats is especially well suited for the numerate among us. This week's challenge is to design a fabric celebrating mathematics. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 30th. Voting will open on Wednesday, December 31st.

Penguins

Celebrate our feathered friends from the Southern Hemisphere with penguin-inspired fabric! Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. Voting will open on Thursday, January 8th.

Australian cities

Traverse the cityscapes of the land down under in this week's Design Challenge! We're celebrating Australia Day with textile designs inspired by the architecture, culture and landmarks found in cities big and small across the continent. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, January 13th. Voting will open on Thursday, January 15th.

Groundhogs

While Punxsutawney Phil is preparing for his moment in the sun (or shadow), we're having our own groundhog day with this week's Design Challenge. These cute, cuddly and oh-so-intuitive critters are sure to make for a fun fabric design. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, January 20th. Voting will open on Thursday, January 22nd.

Rockets

Get ready for blast off with this week's Design Challenge. Designers, let your imagination soar when creating your rocket-inspired design. Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, January 27th. Voting will open on Thursday, January 29th.
