Bicycles (3-color)

This contest is for fabric designs that include bicycles. Please limit yourselves to three colors (black and white are both colors). Please try to avoid the deliberate use of gradients, overlays, transparencies, half-tones, etc. Preview will be sized at a fat quarter (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

Your town toile de jouy

This is a contest for fabric designs based on the Toile de Jouy style popularized in the 18th century. Each designer must create a Toile de Jouy design based on the history of the town where she or he lives. Include the name of the city being celebrated in the name of your design, and a short explanation of what it depicts in your description. Preview will be sized at a fat quarter (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

Robot cheater quilts

In this contest we're looking for artwork engineered specifically to create a cheater quilt with a robot theme. Plain, repeating surface designs will be removed. Previews for the contest will be shown at the scale of a full yard. Deadline for entry is Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

Staff challenge 2 contest

Each Spoonflower staff team will design a fabric and a fabric project. The week before voting, teams will post a description of their projects and photos on the Spoonflower blog. During the contest, community will vote on photos of the finished projects along with links to fabric designs and blog posts. Only Spoonflower staff can enter this contest, but everyone will get to vote staring March 15.

Urban sightings

Create a fabric based on one or more of the photos on the Textile Center's Urban Sightings page. Judges will choose semifinalists and the community will vote for finalists. Top ten will receive $50 in Spoondollar credit and will also be shown in an exhibition in Textile Center's Community Gallery. The designer selected for the Juror's Choice award during the exhibition will receive a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS5. Previews for the contest will be shown as a quarter yard (21" x 18"). Deadline for entry is Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
