I have always been drawn to Eastern European folk designs. But recently the stars seemed aligned for this collection...My children started taking Russian (they begged me to let them take it after school!), we went to a Russian Winter Festival at the Hillwood Estate and the Olympics are in Sochi, Russia. I have been seeing Matryoshkas everywhere! This collection is my interpretation of Russian folk motifs and those beautiful Matryoshka dolls.
