Description:

What is a Princess?. Why many little girls, and also not so little ones, still dream about to become a Princess ?, and why some of them still dream to find in real life their " Ideal Prince charming " ?. Had the Fairy-Tales played a heavy roll in this conception ?. Are the XXI Century Princesses Fairy-Tales Princesses too?. What adjectives do you think should define an ideal Princess ?. The term Princess has been used for the consort of a Prince, or for the daughter/s of a King or sovereign Prince. Since ancient times, as women slowly gained more autonomy and respect in history, the title of Princess became simply the female counterpart of prince; it does not necessarily imply being merely married to a Prince, she may be the unmarried daughter of a Monarch or other Royal or noble of sufficient rank (King, Queen, Prince, Grand Duke, Duke, or other ). In many Royal Families, a King would grant his heirs actual or theoretical principalities to train them for future kingship or to give them social class. This practice has led over time to many people thinking that "Prince" and "Princess" are titles reserved for the immediate family of a king or queen. In fact, most princesses in history were not immediate members of a Royal family but rather women who married into it. Some become Queens, others no. Now a days, worldwide, in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa and and also in the Middle East, there are many Princesses that with their different personalities, their work skills, social behaviour, and even we could say, their beauty and style, try to represent their country and work for it, offering the best of themselves. Some of them are well known, having a relevant public life, perhaps even famous, others not so well known, but all of them offer the best of themselves. I've chosen few of them, Princesses of the XII Century, to could create few designs inspired somehow in the Nature, the Princesses and also the ¨royal fabrics¨ as moire, damasks, embroideries, taffetas, silk-plaid, etc... To avoid any superficial gossips, through my personal point of view, the designs are just and only described using a 3 word-concept to define them, offering something that will represent in fabric " their personality ". Because the designs come from my fantasy, and the inspiration are real persons. I apologize in advance, if perhaps any of them feel not comfortable with them. The designs are the result of a collage of impressions and fantasy. I hope it won't be an issue,I don't think so :-) A more ¨classical ¨ collection that I hope you will like them all !
